MWCS 2024 and IAS 2024 Kick off Pioneering Global Industrial Innovation

China International Industry Fair (CIIF) has been established since 1999. Over more than twenty years of development and innovation, it has developed into one of the largest, highest-level, most comprehensive and influential UFI-certified exhibitions in China’s industrial field through its specialized, market-oriented, internationalized, and branded operations, which serves as an important window and platform for economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between China’s industrial field and the world.
Highly anticipated by global industries, the core specialized exhibitions under the 24th China International Industry Fair - Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show 2024 (MWCS) and Industrial Automation Show 2024 (IAS) are grandly held today at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).
This year’s CIIF has attracted 2,800 enterprises from nearly 28 countries and regions around the world. Gary Liu, Managing Director of Hannover Milano Fairs China Ltd., noted that MWCS 2024 and IAS 2024 have gathered industrial giants, technology innovation enterprises, and industry experts from all over the world. They focused on the core technology and key areas of the high-quality development of China’s new industry and provided exemplary models for accelerating the continuous progress and innovation of global industries as well as industrial transformation and upgrading.
MWCS 2024: Pooling New Technological Powerhouses
The machine tool industry has always been one of China’s key areas highlighting the R&D of high-end, high-precision, and advanced technology. Currently, domestic machine tool industry has demonstrated strong independent innovation capability and market vitality and is transforming toward high-end markets, with new opportunities discovered in the new energy and semiconductor areas. As a key event attracting constant attention in the industry, MWCS 2024 continues to boast a strong lineup, gathering more than 600 leading enterprises featuring unique advantages, professionalism, and high-quality products and services, with an exhibition area of over 80,000 square meters. Among the enterprises, there are 117 specialized, sophisticated, differential and innovative SMEs and 33 “little giant” firms, showcasing the substantial technological innovation ability of the top enterprises in China’s manufacturing sector.
Domestic and international brands including Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic, Han’s Laser, HG Laser, Salvagnini, Prima Power, YaWei, Accurpress, Murata, JFY, Yangli, Bodor, Deratech, Penta, Haitian, Lanhao, ADH, JQ Laser, XTLASER, EKO, Raycus, etc. are expected to showcase top-notch technologies and products in the segments of metal forming, metal cutting, special processing machine tools, CNC systems, machine tool parts, abrasives, grinding tools, cutting tools/fixtures, as well as testing and measuring equipments.
This year, three new exhibition areas are added to MWCS, namely, the Exhibition Area for Forging Technologies and Equipment, International Brand Exhibition Area, and Labor Protection Selection Area, contributing wisdom and solutions to global green and low-carbon development. Shanghai Forging Technology and Equipment Zone gathers industry top-tier enterprises including Yangli Group, Yadon, Yingkou Forging, Anhui Zhongye, BRIMET, Shanghai Cheneng, etc., which collectively showcase the new equipment, products, materials, and processes in the metalforming sector. In addition, metallic bipolar plate pressing technology for electric vehicle battery structural components, hydrogen combustion cells, and hydrogen electrolytic bath is also showcased in this area. Besides international giants such as Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic, Salvagnini, Prima Power, and Murata, the International Brand Exhibition Area also brings together a large number of top international brands in industrial segments, including Haeusler, Langtech, Baublie, Gutekunst, Kohler, Siegmund, Atlanta, Formdrill, Wila, InspecVision, PEM, Metalix, and Wilson, all showcasing solutions for efficient sheet metal processing in a concentrated way. The Labor Protection Selection Area focuses on top-tier labor protection products and safety protection technologies, which is committed to providing comprehensive safety solutions for enterprises.
Trumpf makes a strong debut with its two new products: the TruMatic 5000 punch laser processing cell, Asia debut, and the global premiere of the TruLaser Tube 7000 fiber laser tube cutting machine, global debut. The products integrate the speed and flexibility of solid state lasers in a wide range of processing applications, assisting enterprises efficiently improve production and product quality. The Tianmen FLW ENSIS fiber laser welding robot also made its first appearance at MWCS, featuring modal variable technology and a unique beam swing mechanism that allows for intelligent switching of welding modes. Bystronic’s new product - the new-generation ByCut Nova laser cutting system, China debut—is capable of utilizing up to 20 kW of laser power to cut carbon steel up to 40 mm thick with high precision. Han’s Laser presents a dual booth with a simultaneous release of new products in air seal, CNC and 3D printing at the scene. The HF Expert series fiber laser cutting machines specially developed for overseas markets make a stunning debut, conveying to the world Han’s Laser’s new momentum of “actively reaching out”. Integrated solutions such as Salvagnini’s automation solution integrating its P2 panel bender with robots and Prima Power’s fully automated robotic intelligent bending solution demonstrate the infinite possibilities of sheet metal manufacturing. HGTECH’s AUTOBOT3015 3D Laser Cutting 5-Axis Machine and Haitian’s 3D 5-Axis laser cutting machine for double cantilever structures of lasers will also be launched at this exhibition. These products effectively solve the difficulty with cutting holes and trimming edges, as well as high-speed cutting for complex curved thin plates.
Additionally, nearly a hundred products are expected to make their debut at the exhibition, including ultra-high power laser cutting machines, robotic automatic bending units, portal single-point precision servo presses, fiber laser welding systems, pure electric servo bending machines, electric servo CNC turret punching machines, laser forming combination machines, six-axis robotic glue coating equipment, cold bending roll forming equipment, composite double galvanometer scanner welding heads, high-power fiber laser chillers, and various smoke purifiers, presenting the cutting-edge solutions for sheet metal and pipe processing and opening a new chapter in metal pipe cutting.
IAS 2024: Featuring a Collection of Globally Debuted Products
Industrial automation, as the core driving force of modern manufacturing, is reshaping the new global industrial landscape at an unprecedented speed. With the rapid development of technology and the constant change of market demand, the industrial automation field is ushering in a series of new trends and technological innovations. IAS 2024 has specially launched seven theme sections, including the Exhibition Area for Intelligent Manufacturing System Solutions, Exhibition Area for Motion Control Systems, Exhibition Area for Embedded Technology, Exhibition Area for Intelligent Sensing and Connectivity, Exhibition Area for Power Transmission, Exhibition Area for Measurement Technology and Instrumentation, and Exhibition Area for Industrial Automation Industry Solutions, with a number of global and domestic debuts expected at the scene.

As a leading enterprise in new automation technologies and a pioneer in PC-based control technologies, Beckhoff presents a series of innovative products such as the MX System cabinet-free solution, ultra compact industrial PCs, embedded controllers, planar magnetic levitation conveyor systems, AI assisted engineering, magnetic-driven flexible conveyor systems, and system integrated machine vision solutions. Hikrobot showcases products and solutions covering 2D vision, intelligent ID, 3D vision, mobile robots, and digital twins, including the new hand-held code reading IDH9000 series products.
Motion control systems, as a core branch of automation technology, play a critical role in the field of industrial control and are widely applied in various industrial sites and daily life. The motion control systems section gathers well-known manufacturers such as ABB, Inovance, KEBA, Innomotics, SANYO DENKI, Elmo, XINJE, Oriental Motor, Leadshine, Moons’, Kinco, HCFA, INVT, Shihlin Electric, Hualong, MatriBOX, Googoltech, Wecon, Chaodechuang, and Kossi, bringing advanced servo drive technologies and a series of innovative products. TURCK makes a significant appearance with RFID sample tracking, TAS Cloud and other latest technologies and personalized solutions for the first time. The Pepperl+Fuchs R200 series of distance laser sensors, aiming to provide users with forward-looking and practical innovations and solutions, will also make their global debut. Compared with the traditional direct insertion spring connection, DEGSON’s world-first touch-connection spring technology supports tool-free connections of all kinds of wires, which greatly improves the wiring efficiency for users.
The Exhibition Area for Power Transmission brings together famous exhibitors including Festo, SMC, HIWIN, AirTAC, CHELIC, MINDMAN, TBI Motion, Ginier, CPC Chieftek, CSK Motion, SATA etc. Festo showcases its ELGD electric cylinder module and the world’s first new generation valve terminal. This exhibition area will also see the global debut of pneumatic motorized rotary mechanical clamp EM, slide rail parallel mechanical clamp HMF, and drug liquid valve LAQ/LMQ, providing strong support for intelligent manufacturing and Industry 4.0 era. The Exhibition Area for Measurement Technology and Instrumentation and the Exhibition Area for Industrial Automation Industry Solutions also boast a strong lineup including KEYENCE, HC Vision, JANPOS, UnitX, Hongrun, Yudian, Huayi Zhongheng, Yaying Aluminum, EA Excelsior, Co-Strong, Hengli Hydraulics, KOAL, BEI-IDEACOD, Pneulead, ZONCN, Dejite, FRECON, FHS, HABO, LEIZIG, Golten and other well-known enterprises.
