Based in the city of Hanover, Germany, Deutsche Messe AG (www.messe.de), founded in 1947, owns the largest exhibition venue in the world—Hannover Exhibition Center, with a net displaying area of 466,100 sqm.
The core business of Deutsche Messe AG is to hold leading international trade fairs in Hanover and selected countries. Its major events includes HANNOVER MESSE, LIGNA, EMO, ARGITECHNICA and so on. As a platform for showcasing applications and releasing the latest cutting edge technologies and research findings, these flagship trade fairs represent the latest markets, lead the international market trends and have a great appeal for worldwide exhibitors and visitors. 2023 will see Deutsche Messe AG present around 90 trade shows and events in Germany and abroad.
Carbon neutral by 2035 – that is Deutsche Messe's goal. Sustainability is thus a cornerstone of the company's strategy and a key issue for the future. Deutsche Messe has obtained its entire electricity supply via hydroelectric power since 2018, making for savings of around 40,000 metric tons of CO2 to date. What's more, the use of state-of-the-art LED technology has helped cut electricity consumption for lighting in the halls and outdoor facilities by 40 percent. Looking ahead, Deutsche Messe plans to implement an innovative renovation concept for the exhibition grounds as of 2024 onwards and aims to install photovoltaic systems in halls 19 and 20.
